CNC Machining

Precision parts made from your CAD model and drawing.

CNC machining removes material from solid stock with computer-controlled mills and lathes. It is a strong fit for prototypes, low-volume production, repair parts, tooling, and repeat components that require controlled dimensions and repeatability.

What Spartan provides

Spartan supports 3-axis and 4-axis milling and CNC turning. We review geometry, material, tolerances, finish, inspection requirements, outside processing, and due date before committing the work.

Our default machining standards

Unless your drawing or quote states otherwise, Spartan uses the following default CNC assumptions:

  • Metals: +/- 0.005 in for size and location features.
  • Plastics and composites: +/- 0.010 in unless otherwise specified.
  • As-machined surface finish: 125 microinch Ra or better.
  • Sharp edges are broken and deburred by default unless a critical sharp edge is specifically called out.
  • Tighter tolerances, GD&T, special finishes, threads, and critical surfaces are manufactured to the drawing and quoted requirements.

Large parts, heat-treated parts, thin sections, unusual materials, and sub-0.001 in requirements may require engineering review before acceptance.
